Another Milestone

40% of our pregnancy has passed! Only 60% to go!

We shared the news with a few more friends over the weekend, but I still haven't broken the news at work. Will they ever make their announcement so that I can make mine?!? I'm tired of holding my belly in all day :)

Movement!

I have been feeling the baby move a little lately - and this morning, he/she's been really getting around!

Speaking of movement, Jordan's position has changed. She told me last night that she wants a little sister. She even said that they could share a room if it's a big room (not her current pink room, that's hers and only hers). She also finally decided that my belly is no longer "little" and announced that it's "big" today.

For those who don't know, I gained 96 lbs (before I stopped looking at the scale) with Jordan. I am trying to keep that as my record and never approach it again. I had lost about 75 of those pounds before getting pregnant with Carter/Haley. Based on my height, weight, and BMI, I am told that I should only gain between 25-35 lbs with this baby! What? That seems like nonsense, but I am proud to say that I am still right on target! 4 months in and I haven't been taken over by the XL Fudge Round cravings!

Month 4

We are officially in month 4, or week 16, or 99 days, or 37% of the way into our pregnancy!

visitors ROCK AND we're ROLLing in a new ride!

Jordan's Nanny is on vacation this week, so my mom and oldest sister are here to help out. Last night, I fell asleep guilt-free on the couch at 8:30, and I finally woke up refreshed this morning! And I was early for the first time in months!

I am still trying to conceal my pregnancy at work, but it's getting harder! My belly is getting bigger and my clothes are getting frumpier :)

We bought a new baby mobile over the weekend! It's a new Dodge Journey - and so far, we love it!

Week 14...

Yesterday, I was positive that we are having a girl. Today, I'm not so sure. Ice cream made me sick last night, and I'm still sick this morning. Salty pretzels seem to be making me feel a little better. And, according to my not so reliable sources, salty = boy; sweet = girl.

But, here's the good news. 33% of my pregnancy has passed with only 67% left to go!

Fetal development in pregnancy week 14: At about 3.5 inches long, his/her little body and limber limbs are coordinated enough for loads of complicated motions. In fact, his/her whole body is moving right now! Our baby is also starting to develop the ability to move its eyes this week and can make all sorts of fun facial expressions like squinting, frowning, and grimacing. Cute development of the week: his/her little hands can grasp at things and he/she may already be sucking its thumb!

The secret is out!

We shared the news with my family on July 4th as planned!

We are thankful to have the support of so many wonderful people!!

True to our/my planning ways, we have already selected baby #2's name. She/he will either be called Haley Kaye or Carter Steven. Things could always change between now and then... but for now... Haley/Carter it is!!

BTW, I had to revisit the Chinese calendar with the new dates, and we're looking more like a girl! We'll know for sure soon. My next appointment is scheduled for Monday, Aug 9 at 4p, and we'll be scheduling the 2nd ultrasound!

Sharing the News!

We are in WV to celebrate the 4th of July (and Jared's birthday) with the Rinker clan. We had a fun time with family, good food, and fireworks last night, and while we were all in the celebrating mood... we honored Steve and Dee Dee's 25th anniversary AND announced that Jordan will have a baby brother or sister!

It feels good to finally share the excitement.

My family is together in VA this weekend. I'm going to call tonight and make the announcement to the Hamiltons - and then, the kitten is out of the satchel!!
